Road To Victory: Underground Wrestling Strength & Performance Camp

We will be starting a Wrestling specific training program starting Monday, October 29th.

The program is called ‘The Road To Victory’

Read ALL the info below detailing WHY and HOW you can get involved with this exclusive Wrestling Strength & Performance Program.

** The Road To Victory **

What I’ve seen through my years training wrestlers is that the MOST successful wrestlers are those who continue to train with us in season. NOT just pre season.

The wrestlers who bail out during the in season get weaker, lose confidence,  lose conditioning, lose explosive power and overall are more susceptible to injury.

This program will only be open for 6 high school wrestlers.

Here are the details as well as the qualifications you need to be accepted into the program:

- Starting October 29th and going right up the  NJSIAA State Championships in 2013, this program will push you to achieve greater success than ever before.

- MONTH 1: This Wrestling Program will have unlimited training  during your first month, leading up to the day after Thanksgiving, the official first day of practice.

- MONTH 2: From Thanksgiving until the new year, you will have the opportunity to train 2 x week with a Coach along  with unlimited use of the gym on non scheduled days.

- MONTH 3 & 4: After the new year, you will train 1 x week with a Coach and STILL have unlimited use of the gym.

Space is limited to the first 6 wrestlers who take action.

Serious, highly committed, highly motivated, goal oriented wrestlers ONLY.

- An interview will take place before acceptance into the program.

- If you’re an excuse maker or even have 1 % of laziness inside of you then this program is NOT for you.

- I expect this crew of wrestlers to be highly disciplined and BEYOND driven to make it to the states and achieve more success on the mat than ever before.

You will be given nutrition guidelines as well as mindset coaching to maximize your success. Proper nutrition will increase your energy, reduce emotional stress, reduce injuries and will allow you to PEAK at the right time of the season while your competition is burned out.

The mindset coaching will help you understand how to properly set goals. NOT just big goals, but micro goals, teaching you how to set goals for each practice, each match, each tournament and more. You will learn how to rebound from set backs immediately, which can be THE difference maker between victory and loss, achieving your goals vs being an almost ran.

We will accept nothing less than those who have the eye of the tiger and will do everything they say they will do.

If you have big goals, prepare to do BIG work.

South Plainfield Wrestlers Have Eye Of The Tiger

These guys make me proud…. Anthony Ashnault & Ray Jaz…..

Monday night, Ray Jaz shows up at 7:30 to train, unannounced…. after a looong weekend of wrestling in Va. and cutting weight from 128 to 113, he was FULL of energy. He trained till 8:30 that night, doing at least 3 x the amount of work as any other wrestler did that day!

THIS is what it takes to become a champion….. other athletes are “too tired”, “too busy”, “too sore”, etc.

Other wrestlers insist on going to a wrestling club on top of the 6 x week practices and matches…. this is the old adage of it use or lose it…. wrestling more In season isn’t the answer, but doing what others do NOT do in season IS the answer….

Then…. last night, Anthony Ashnault rolls up, the night before a BIG match against fellow Undergrounder, Jordan “Buckwheat” Pagano.

Most wrestlers won’t train the night before a match, but some will squeeze that workout in, knowing the small extras lead to BIG wins.

Look at this BIG win Anthony secured in Va. against one of the nation’s best wrestlers, Joey Dance, and, check that final 10 second Throw!!!

When people hear or read about us, they assume we train only wrestlers or only high school athletes. The REAL facts are we train ALL SERIOUS athletes, which means we prepare middle school, high school, collegiate AND post collegiate athletes who are competing on an international level.

Two of our top Guns are Ben Igoe, a Fencer who recently competed in the world championships in Paris and has just returned from Bulgaria as well and David Ellis, aka The Judo BEAST.

David Ellis is a world famous (Or FEARED) Judo Beast who is regularly ranked amongst the top 3 Judoka in the USA.

To become a BEAST, understand this, you MUST be willing to do what other athletes don’t want to do. It is amazing how many athlete simply do NOT want to do the little extras that ass up to BIG wins. Amazing….

Animal Strength & Conditioning at The Underground Strength Gym

At The Underground Strength Gym we don’t need fancy equipment or a BIG gym to impress people or fake our way into getting results.

We get results the old fashioned way integrated with results driven strength, speed and conditioning methods. Check out Dillon, after training with Coach Riz. The kid weighs 170 lbs and deadlifts over 500 lbs, climbs the beam and ropes with an added 20 lbs of swinging chains.

Are You a Champion? Why Not?

I’ve seen it go on for too long. Edison High School Football continues it’s crappy record. Too many excuses, NOT enough forward thinking in the program, not enough dedication by the Football players themselves. I used to work for Edison, told them countless times I could help make their athletes stronger, faster, more confident, highly conditioned and the answer was always in the form of an excuse.

Excuses don’t build champions.

We recently had a Basketball Player gain 40 lbs of muscle in one year along with confidence and power unmatched. His “Coach” bought some battling ropes and kettlebells yet had NO clue how to use them, so our Underground Strength Gym athlete taught him how to use them. At least we know they’re hiring qualified people at his school, or, maybe not.

When they saw him play in a Basketball game, tired, rather than use their brain, they said he needs to remove himself from the very program that built him up and motivated him towards achieving bigger, greater goals. How Smart. Keep him in the program where the Coach doesn’t know what he’s doing, remove him from the program that creates results.

The Underground Strength Gym is a place for highly motivated athletes with supportive parents. Period. Nothing less will suffice.

NJ Wrestlers Prepare to WIN

Wrestlers from all around NJ travel to The Underground Strength Gym to prepare to win.

They want to become stronger, faster, meaner, tougher and better conditioned than their opponents.

Athletes of The Underground Strength Gym

No Excuses Underground Strength Gym

The Underground Strength Gym is NOT for everyone.

The reasons are either because the parents are unsupportive, rude and / or intrusive.

Or…. the athlete is lazy and full of excuses.

Your first 3 months here is a trial period. Some make it, some don’t.

If you don’t make it you’re not invited back. Go to Retro Fitness or some other globo gym where doing half reps with half intensity is the norm and accepted as such.

If you make excuses that you’re too busy and I see you posting a million comments on facebook, I know you’re full of BS.

When you say the words “I’m too busy” I hear the words “I’m too lazy”.

Are kids truly “too busy” nowadays, too busy to train 2 hours a week? Do you Honestly have THAT much homework, homework that takes you from 4 – 10 pm at night, 6 hours of homework a night? WOW. Impressive.

Is it truly a financial problem, or, does Johnny not have a job yet drives a Lexus? Did little Johnny EVER have a job? I had 2 paper routes at the same time when I was in middle school, one in the morning the other in the afternoon.

If it was cold, raining or snowing there were still NO excuses. Newspaper HAD to be delivered.

Excuses are MANY nowadays, commitment is rare.

At The Underground Strength gym, we want athletes who are committed to excellence and have NO excuses. Same goes for the parents. Don’t be rude or intrusive, don’t tell us how to train our athletes or that he needs to do extra work at the end of his workout or needs heavier weight. We’re the experts and we create workouts that bring results, and yes, this means that a workout does not HAVE to last one hour.

Do I show up at your place of work and start shouting out orders? NO. Why would it be OK for you to do so here? Respect. Period.
