Edison, NJ Athletes Get their Tattoos!
I’ve seen the bond form amongst the athletes here at The Underground Strength Gym in good ol’ Edison, NJ.
1 bruddah gets a tattoo and so does another. Check out the ink from these Underground Athletes:

Russ Benner / Roselle Park Wrestling

Derek DeLaCruz / Bishop Ahr Wrestling

Mike Crusco / Metuchen Basketball
Drop a comment, let me know who has the best ink.
But be careful, you don’t wanna anger either of these 3!
Peace!

"Do I Need a Gym"

One of the most common questions I get via e mail is, “Do I need a gym” to run my training business?
My FAST answer, “Hell NO!”
You don’t need a physicla location or a roof over your head when you get going.
In fact, if you live in an area with year round warm weather, you can easily get away with running your biz out of the trunk of your car, truck, van, etc.
I’m sure you’ll want more, BUT, it is VERY doable and can still be an awesome training biz.
I began from my Dad’s garage, and once I bought a house, still, most of the training I did with my athletes was performed outdoors in the backyard or at the local playground.
In the backyard we cranked all types of log training from the old cherry tree we cut down.
I had a rope hanging from the tree for rope climbing and a few sledge hammers to beat on the old tree stump.
Throw in some kettlebells and bodyweight training and our athletes were training like Rocky and feeling stronger, faster and more conditioned than ever before!
I had my trusty ISUZU Rodeo and could load up 3 or 4 sleds with a few sandbags and the local playground would be transformed into a area of physical culture – hill sprints, sled work, monkey bar hand walking, pull ups, leg raises, jumps onto the picnic tables and sandbag training.
Trust me, even I still miss those early days, and even my athletes who are still with me today talk of those days with a longing.
You can make it happen, regardless of your situation.
The difference is if you’re willing to do a little more than most.
Let me leave you with this quote:
“By doing just a little more than most,
you can make a lot more than most”
Peace!

Football Training at The Underground Strength Gym
In the video below you’ll see two guys hitting a 350 lb thick bar bench press.
Michael Pitts, an All American Safety from Monmouth U looking to get into the NFL, and Brian “Curls” Pascal.
Curls is a freak – but, many of you do NOT know that once upon a time, Curls was NOT a freak.
In fact, he was slow, pudgy and showed no inkling of athletic prowess.
He would be tagged first in tag games.
But, in middle school he began cranking out calisthenics – lots of them.
In high school he buried himself in the weight room.
Junior year he began training Underground, back when we were in a garage.
Today, as a Sophomore at Johns Hopkins University, Curls is 250 lbs and is one of the strongest, most explosive and most athletic guys I have ever worked with.
Check out Curls & Pitts moving some serious weight!
The lesson here?
Nothing beats hard work and consistency. This stuff has to be done all year – training NEVER stops.
Kill it!

PS: We are currently on a waiting list to get into The Underground Strength Gym. You can still call or e mail us to leave your name and information. Because we are a private club, referrals and invites from our clients will get priority.
PPS: If you’re waiting to begin training until you get “in”, I must add:
1) Not everyone is accepted into our program
2) Waiting NEVER helps. Start training on your own.
Those who stopped by our gym in the fall and winter are now trying to get into the program and missed out. Waiting is NOT a good thing.
