What an AWESOME day this was.

The first day of the wrestling season began last Monday. Several weeks prior, Assistant Coach Brian Grainer reached out to see if The Point Boro Wresting Team could start their first day of the season at The Manasquan Underground Strength Gym!

We began our training at the park across the street. The team of 27 wrestlers showed up ready to do work. From the park we attacked the gym and every wrestler from freshman to senior pushed themselves above and beyond.

The camaraderie was amazing amongst the wrestling team as they pushed one another to work harder and stay tough.

Any athletic team, coach, sports parent should be taking advantage of our training if you are near our Manasquan or Edison locations. We’ve got parents who drive 1 hr each way to get their kids the best training.

Why is there such dedication? It’s simple. Some parents and coaches TRULY care. If you CARE about success you seek out the BEST. We refuse to let our athletes down. Our success stories have been adding up since 2002.

Roselle Park Wrestling Brings 26 Athletes to Edison Underground!

This fired me UP!!! 26 Roselle Park Wrestlers traveled to Edison Underground Strength Gym to CRUSH a workout!!! 

Monday night at 7 PM The Edison Underground Strength Gym was on FIRE as 26 wrestlers from Roselle Park came to The Underground to train.

The gym was packed and due to the rain, we were ALL inside the tiny 1,000 sq ft Underground.

It didn’t matter.

The kids organized, listened and ATTACKED the training with intensity.

Even the Rec Wrestling team brought 6 young wrestlers in and once I got the HS team outside the rec team attacked their bodyweight training.

We’ve been working Roselle Park Wrestling for about 6 years now and we LOVE the blue collar work ethic!

Here’s a lil’ throwback from 2 years ago after I trained the boys in their weight room and then on the track!

The RP Wrestlers drove about 20 minutes to get here.

We want to see the local MANASQUAN athletes here since The Manasquan Underground is in their own backyard, most kids can ride their bikes here in 5 minutes.

– Visualize yourself winning and dominating your competition every day

– Confidence comes from doing the right things. If you’re nervous or second guessing yourself, it’s likely you are cutting corners and NOT training hard enough

– Make the right decisions. Do you need to spend ALL day hanging out with your friends, or, can you spend half a day at a tournament, getting in 4 matches, beating up on some guys, trying new moves and getting comfortable with competing

– Don’t worry about wins and losses in the off season, just get out there and compete.

Dave Zabriskie is a former NJ State Champ and A D1 National Champ from Iowa State. Now, a member of the LVAC (Lehigh Valley Athletic Club) Dave is prepping for the 2016 Olympics.

After a tough training session Dave was kind enough to chat with our athletes in Manasquan about what it takes to become a champion.

The ONE thing I missed on this video is when Dave mentions that he NEVER won 1 match his freshman year in high school minus the forfeit.

He went on to become 3 time all state and his senior year, a state champ.

This is HOW he achieved his success and how ALL our athletes can and should start thinking AND living to become champions themselves

Get Healthier & Get Stronger Mobility Seminar

Rule # 1: To get stronger you MUST get healthier.

If you’ve got nagging injuries that you simply work around rather than addressing them you are limiting your true potential in human performance. Eventually, your body breaks down and your workouts become horrible at best as you constantly try to avoid the aches and pains.

Mobility work isn’t as glorious as squatting 405 for reps or flipping a 600 lb tire.

But… spend a 10 minutes a day working on some nagging issues you have and within a few short days you’ll be feeling 100 x better.

If you’re not healthy, forget about being able to bench, squat and deadlift heavy. Eventually, your body will break down like an OLD car and you’ll be moving like a clunk of shit. That’s the straight up TRUTH.

After learning the critical mobility movements you must use either for yourself or the athletes you train you will get:

  • Better quality of workouts where you can focus on being a BadAss rather than trying to avoid what hurts. How about having a body FREE of injuries? That would be THE ultimate goal.
  • Reduce and eliminate nagging pains in joints and muscles.
  • Faster Results in overall performance: MORE Strength, MORE speed, MORE lean muscle gains

As I always say, “Without your health, you have NOTHING.”

For close to 6 months I was unable to perform a push up without excruciating pain in my chest. I thought I had a pec tear with the excruciating pain. My Coaches, Megz & Riz, had been aggressively studying prehab and rehab, mobility work and I was reaching out to Kelly Starret.

With a few simple exercises I was back to push ups, heavy benching and most importantly, a healthy, pain free body.

The pain f**ed with my head and f**ed with the productivity of my day. I’ve seen it happen to countless others as well. They get lost in the world of strength and only want to lift heavy, when the focus needs to be on being healthy, remaining healthy and in turn, allowing you to keep on gaining strength and packing on lean muscle.

I took 3 months to step away from all heavy lifting. NO barbells and ONLY Bodyweight training. With more attention to mobility, prehab and rehab this issue could have been cleared up in a fraction of the time.

If you’re a parent of an athlete, a Strength Coach or Athletic Coach or simply someone committed to strength, you need to pay attention to the videos below and get your ass to our seminar.
